This is my first sword in blender. I've only had experience with Maya but now i'm getting more friendly with this. This took alittle bit but I haven't even uv mapped it yet but I shall Sunday most likely or tonight depending on the rum.

That generally doesn't work wonders on electronics....
If you are interested, you could do a golden Spanish sword for a Conquistador. An unique blade that could be used in a future quest I have to do this year... -
