If you want to write such a quest, I'll be happy to see it, and I imagine so will other people.
Not repairing the bridge shouldn't affect that. If anything, it should help! If there's a big hole in the bridge, you would just stand by the hole and drop onto the ship. If someone has patched up the hole, you'd need to climb over the side before jumping onto the ship.
