A few days ago GOG.com announced that they were adding a new publisher to their stable, thanks to @Red Back Dude for pointing it out to me, but they didn't reveal who that publisher was going to be. There have been rumors floating around for the past couple of days on some forum posts that it would be Disney/Lucas Arts, and that peaked my interest of course! Well today that has been confirmed! Gog will carry old games from Lucas Arts! Since Lucas Arts is now owned by Disney, that means that Disney games may be available as well!

Needless to say, this is potentially huge news for our community! They also mentioned that Bethesda/Zenimax were a possibility as well. This means that there is a very good possibility that one day we will indeed see POTC on GOG!! The game has not been available commercially for over a decade now. The only way to get it was by buying used copies, or by downloading it through torrents. Most of those torrented Warez copies had been altered from the original game, sometimes in very harmful ways, and those alterations made our mods either not work as intended or made them extremely buggy. Hopefully this will go a long way in solving some of those compatibility issues! Since Bethesda/Zenimax were also mentioned as well, that could potentially mean Sea Dogs, Age of Pirates and CoAS too!

The potential list of games is almost endless, but the first releases include titles such as The Secret of Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Sam and Max, Tie Fighter, X-Wing. Knights of the Old Republic! Prices range from $5.99 each for Sam & Max and Fate of Atlantis. $9.99 for the others. This is likely to cause a great load on their servers for a while! If you can actually get on, while you are over there buying X-Wing, please cast your vote for them to carry POTC, CoAS and the classic Sea Dogs!

One thing is certain, all these potential titles means I am gonna be burning a whole in my wallet, not only to buy some of these games, but some new storage space to put them on! While I am at it, that just may get me excited enough to build a new rig to play them on!
