If you change in file particles.ini the value from 20 000 to 1000 only the time od appearance of smoke must shorten very much. If nothing happen you must do something wrong. Write exactly how are you doing it in this file. ok when im changing the parameters in particels.ini, the duration change!
So it works, (form 20k to 4k)but thats not the solution of my problem! Have u watch the pics? I want to change the animation, these big white cloud/smoke is really disturbing me...

Use what Skul advises in first items and set for example 7 or 5 instead of 20.

U see the first pic? There u can see the big and nasty cannon smoke!
At the second pic u see the original cannon smoke from potc without any patches or mods!
Do u see the difference?
I want to get the original cannon smoke back, cause after i installed build 12 the original smoke become this big and nasty white cloud (witch u see on pic No.1)
Allright?
Has somebody a solution?

In particles.ini, in the [cancloud] section, you'll find something that looks like this:

key_psize    = 10,1000; 3,250
;key_psize    = 0,6000<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->

These define the size of the smoke and the time at which they become that size (i think). To get the original size, I believe all you have to do is change the second entry. You should end up with this:
<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->key_psize    = 0.25,0

key_psize    = 3,250
;key_psize    = 0,6000<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->

The total duration should be 4000 (miliseconds) to match the default smoke.



I think your problem is that no one here can understand why you'd *want* the smoke like that. Myself, I wish the smoke were more like this:

I'm sadly lacking in image editing skills, but I think it's a good enough representation. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> If anyone can come up with something that looks even *slightly* like that, I'll personally bow down and kiss their feet.
