motorboats wont happen any time soon anyway because I cant package mods so?
I'm not obsessed with unbalancing the game either coz if you get hit by one cannonball u sink. Its more a question of another challenge - can you dodge the cannonballs.

And afterall - if you dont like it dont download it!

I did it once importing one of our naval battle ships in there and it was pretty fun to see however a few shots and the fort was already done for.

U mean u pasted the fort with a really quick battleship. No my ship is a tiny rubber dingy and has only one repeating cannon on the front so it would take quite a while to beat a fort. Its quite fun though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

Also where is the download page for piratesahoy and how do i upload to it?

yeah but i mean a battleship from the us navy dated from 2004 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Ill be more than happy to help out. Anything that needs to get done for mods or SuperMod, send it on and ill help out. I have tons of free time and i am currently working on fixing the Capture Screen problem with SuperMod w/all updates. (btW: Check the post about it.)

WEll yea, sign me up! im in!

hello. I'd also like to help. I can probably do ship models if needed. I have a lot of free time and would like to help, I've had experience in video game design and am familiar with the tool used for model making.

all I need is for someone to post a link for me to where I can get modding software. I just got a new comp and all my old modding tools are gone with my old comp. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

just PM me on what kind of ship you want me to do and I'll do my best

Well, I've not yet stopped modding AoP. I'm just busy with other AoP related side projects, such as the english translation of Secrets of Far Seas.

I'll eventually do all I can to move what I've learned from working with SoFS and Build to hopefully helping create a nice massive mod for AoP.

For CoAS once Build 14 is done, I'm hoping. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

That is my hope as well, Pieter. **grins**

Hi Folks,

Firstly I'd like to say "Three cheers m' hearties!!!!!" for the people who've kindly given up their valuable time to create mods for AoP so far.

I'm a professional games designer/Producer (over 20 years in the industry designing, scripting writing and project managing video games) who's not currently in the business and who has a bit of time to spare if the project met my needs as far as the next step for AoP.

There have been many great mods, many of which I use, but there's always been a major bug-bear with the game for me.

Here are the major issues for me (and hopefully some other modders who might want to work together):

1. I want to be able to play the game in 1st person view all of the time (obviously there'd be an option to choose 3rd person for those who like that view).

2. This means when sailing, fighting, going in and out of buildings, getting on/off ships, talking to NPCs, everything.

3. Movement around the deck when in 1st person. Why the RH mouse button?!!! Why not the directional keys used on land and use the mouse buttons for other tasks (e.g. RH mouse = Use telescope, mouse middle roller = Zoom telescope in/out).

I can press a key each time I step into a tavern or onto a boat/ship to place me back into 1st person but this gets tedious and annoying if you like playing in 1st person.

I realise that the fighting aspect would be the hardest part to change but nothing that can't be overcome for a team with the right skills and determination.

In my opinion an Oblivion style interface would be great for melee fighting (mouse buttons, or combinations of, for melee fighting).

Anyone interested?

cheers,

Lambar
