Am i the only one who likes LoJS?

Merciless Mark

Build mod - Master Gunner
Storm Modder
Ive noticed alot of criticism against Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow in reviews and by some posts on this forum, question is, am i the only one who likes it?

Its clearly a console port, so the controls are a little clumsy, but once i got used to that it was quite fun, allthou i did encounter some bugs on the last Nassau level.

anyone else?

Well, I had a go at it and sold it. Did not like the Controls and only made it to Chapter 3.
I think, I've still got it on my computer, but have not looked at it in a long time. Wish I had better news!

I posted a link to a site about the game where you can also download a short film about it. I've never played the game, is it just different chapters that you play through? Are there any sailing elements to it like Sea Dogs or Pirates of the Caribbean?

Nope. Only walkin' and slashin'. Not to mention bosses cheat <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

And as much as I liked the basic concept of the game (and the humor <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ), yeah, the controls are bad. PCs aren't consoles - we have better control devices. Honestly <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> If developers cannot be bothered to actually utilise mouse control, for example, then it's going to frustrate a lot of players

(<i>Metal Gear Solid 2</i> had the same problem - instead of reasonably incorporating mouse controls ingame, they simply mapped it as R2 stick, which means that technically it is supported, but end up being completely useless. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

well i just finished it today lol, like after 10-15 hours of gameplay.

and yeah, no sailing, its more of a typical adventure game, fun thou, barbossa was one tough boss allthou the last tripple boss i had to play trough 4 tiems to beat.

Sometimes the lack of saving when one pleases an the difficulty can be quite annoying.

Ive got my eyes set on At World's End now, hopefully it will have better controls, and the graphics are definatley an improvement there. from the screenshtos you can even duel Davey Jones <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Have it too, I like it. I am now at the level where you are on the Black Pearl, but I am stuck, I can`t beat Mallot(2nd time). But I am waiting for At World`s End too.

ah Mallot, my strategy for taking on bosses is dealing two heavy blows or a combo and then dodging out
