"Ahoy!": Age of Sail 1st Person Multiplayer Action/Adventure Game on Unreal Engine

Will it be posible to join online games with random people? 20 random players on the same ship for example(or whatever number needed to play a decent sized ship) or do you need to have a team :pirates/group of friends to play?
In that last scenario I'm f**kt :walkplank

Thank you for the kind words!

About multiplayer... In our first release, the game will act much like a traditional deathmatch/matchmaking system you might find in any FPS. This will put you in with other random people, or you can join the same server as your friends of course.

In future, the plan will be to have a more persistent singular world, and at this time your crew would either be paid AI seamen, friends you've invited on board to assist, or other players who are looking for work aboard your ship. Of course, they will expect some share of any prizes you might capture in return :)

You can read more about the premise of Ahoy on our new website - Ahoy

A few more from in-engine :)

Hello everyone, it's been a busy month! We'll soon be welcoming two new ships to the fleet.

- British ship 'Alert', based on the historic HMS Alert (1777) made anew by Axeonalias for Ahoy.

- French ship 'Nemesis', made based on the lines of Tapageur, by Loïc (shipwright of our first ship, Phoebus)

Hey all!
Lots of progress across the project the past month or so. We're taking a few new steps forward this coming month as well, with the start of our recreating of Port Royal.

Anyway, here are some screenshots of Nemesis in the water...

Progress on our character models, an experiment in hair, facial hair, and reworking the eyes and skin shaders...

Progress on some sub-biome environment collections, which will be used to populate large areas of land at a time using vegetation maps that span the entire Caribbean.

Alert is continuing along very nicely too!

And last but certainly not least - The interior of the now complete Veloce!

That's all for now, but definitely join the conversation in our Discord server for daily updates!
