Anybody read the new book on William Dampier? It was my first pirate `non-fiction` centered on one person. I've read Under the Black Flag as well.
I found it to be pretty interesting. Especially with Dampier. What an interesting guy. I was truly amazed at all the firsts he made with respect to being a naturalist. And so many terms and words we use that he is responsible for. Truly ahead of his time in many areas.
While the "pirating" aspect might take a bit of a backseat in the book, it is still a fascinating read.
