Hook's Mod version 1.0 for TEHO 1.5.2

First post edited and link posted for Hookmod version 1.0 final.

There aren't many changes, just a couple bug fixes. You may continue using the previous version if you prefer.

Would existing savegames be affected by the new version?

Hookmod can be installed and uninstalled at will without affecting saved games at all. I've put a lot of work into making sure nothing in the mod will break a saved game.

The only thing you need to make sure of is that if you have a previous version of the mod that you delete the PROGRAM folder to prevent older versions of the script files from causing problems.

I installed this and started a new game and now Sea Dogs crashes when I try to load one of my saves. I can load saves from a different game profile from before I installed Hook's...

Is this the ONLY script mod you have installed?

It wouldn't have been necessary to start a new game with Hookmod, but a new game is necessary if you use the NewStartKit mod from this site.

If no other script mods have ever been installed, exactly what was the sequence of actions? Example:

1. Play game
2. Install mod, start new game in a new profile
3. Try to load game from a different profile, game crashes

I need to try to duplicate whatever error you are getting.

Make sure you've read the above post.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you use quicksave or overwrite saves, the saves can become corrupted. The developers have said quicksave is "evil".

If it is just one save that doesn't work, that's likely the problem. If NO saves work, it's a different problem.

On a related side note, if Akella and BlackMark Studios in the near future decide to release the "Hero of the Nation" ENGLISH DLC (SDTEHO 1.6.0), your mod should not be significantly impacted unless they decide to make significant bug fix changes.

Based on the Russian release, the predominant change was in the quest files, quest locations, location textures, dialogue, added characters, and updating two of a ship files(tied to French battleship of the third rank "Elyaton"), none of which are intrusive to breaking a player's game, otherwise there would be a fair number of pissed off individuals. This is partially why I had to be careful in modding my game, as I know which files are most likely scheduled to be updated, and which are not, so I do not need to repeat work over or correct the changes.

I am willing to do testing for you when released, but in the meantime, I basically "finished the game" again, as I do not have many goals left except correctly capturing the Gold Fleet.
Grinding for certain achievements is not really fun for me, if there is no added content.
The game series has been highly enjoyable with good memories, but it still seems hard for me to believe that another title could ever be resurrected based on the limited community.

If the developers make a change to any file that I've modified, I'll have to incorporate their changes with mine. Otherwise the game is broken.

The mod will not run if the game version changes, so there shouldn't be a problem.
 
Woo! The mod has 300 downloads as of now and the readme has 200. If that ratio held for the previous version of the mod, that was hosted on Mega, the readme had 300 downloads so the mod might have had 450. Not bad. :)

this is really something man u did a great job, we just need something for the time that passes by the speed of light in the map
 
The mod is very good, but the autonomous repair does not work after installing the mod. What should I do to solve it?
