Extreme difficult missions

My current broadsword which I had since lvl 10 or so, is 85 attack as well; I was hoping there would be something 120-150 attack! :)

There might be broadswords with higher attack values in the game but axes have better values for blocking and that is also important because the enemy attacks get harder and harder as the game progresses. A good armor like the Trench cuirass, which is shown on my screenshot too, is also very helpful in blocking attacks. The Trench cuirass is the best balanced armor of all because it is offering you a good protection and has the fewest deductions. The best broadsword that i could find during seven complete playthroughs of the whole game was the Schiavona which values were also always random generated by installing or starting a new game.

Yes the 85 shiavona I also have it stocked in my chest.
But I still have not got any cuirass since it gives negative effects such as reaction, endurance, etc.

I use the parade armor as the only penalty is to stealth, which I don't really need. But it's heavy and I still get hit hard more often than I'd like.

Good to hear about the horseman's axe. Just before reading this I got one from a departing boarder, and already had another from some previous fight. I don't use axes and didn't really look at the stats.

Hook

If a player decides to use heavy armor and axes (which i principly prefer in this game for better succeeding in fights) he or she should also take care to use the best fitting start setting.

BTW:

With Normal difficulty you have much more time for The Final Lesson quests combined with other ones and no Rains results in less crashes during playing for the ones that suffer from that.

Yea thats the starting stats I chose as well.
I am doing the 2nd hardest difficulty. (The one before Impossible level).

I sometimes get a lot of crashing, and when it does I just verify cache and then it works a bit better

I didn´t have the courage to play TEHO in Hard mode yet because that means Impossible for me in this game, like Normal already means Hard to me. Please let me know if you could manage to succeed till the end this time because i still don´t know anyone who could do it. Even in Normal mode it was really hard for me to win the boss fights in the quests Seeking for Guardian of Truth, Mystic Ksocheatem Island, Ancient City of Maya and the Caleuche DLC. I wish you good luck for your second try!
You must be really hard headed to play in Hard mode again because you already failed in that mode the last time. :facepalm

Yes last time it was possible but I stopped at the big monster fight; he was too powerful and my rapier didn't do much. And I think I was lvl 32 or something.

This time I want to focus on broadsword and go up to lvl 40 before I reach that mission.

I'm just not sure after which mission I should stop to rank up before failing the whole game, maybe stop after Dutch gambit or is there another mission I can step aside to work on freeplay?

I can only tell you that TEHO is quite different in leveling results than COAS. The higher your level/rank is, the stronger your enemies are. In my last playthrough i finished the game including all DLC´s (except Flying The Jolly Roger which i don´t like) at level 35 in Normal mode and that was already more than enough difficult for me. My final results are shown on the first screenshot.

For shure it is much better to use a Horseman´s axe than a rapier during the big monster fights (like you call them) in the end of the game but only that doesn´t do the trick!
Like i told you already some month ago, you also have to prepare yourself with a lot of other things which my second screenshot is showing and explaining.

Yea I am stocking up on elixers and big potions and only use small potions for freeplay.
Still trying to see if I can find a 90+ attack weapon.
With regards to pistol, the strongest thing I think is dueling pistol but it explodes easily.

In my opinion the best balanced one is the Two-barrel.

Hah! Horse pistol is a type of gun, not sure what it has to do with horses, but maybe the modders of POTC can comment on that one :p

Just to ask, the Caleuche cannot be continued/started until Pirate Saga is complete?
Because I got Guadalupe lighthouse dialog and now went to Dominica but as you see in screenshot attached, I was kicked out of Indian man's hut.

Ps. there is a big bug which has been on for weeks: AI fleets that board automatically sink (victor and loser). Just noticed that when a heavy galleon boarded a tartane and both of them sunk ! :rofl

As far as i know the only condition to start the Caleuche DLC is that you have reached level/rank 27 and has nothing to do with completing the Pirate Saga.

To me your problem sounds more like that you have made bad deals with slaves/indians in your game before. That´s for example the reason why i never play the Slave Trader or Flying The Jolly Roger. They only bring problems afterwards. In this game it´s dangerous to be bad. ;)

It also was and still is the problem in CoAS and TEHO that if you act against smugglers, they don´t want to have anything to do with you afterwards.

Yes but you can bribe in tavern for smuggler and then automatically everything becomes ok again.

But for slaves I only played slave trader, and currently (actually has been since level 1) I am well known honest captain.

And I just turned level 27 so I think for me Caleuche is over because the Slave trader quest is broken and I cannot complete it due to the bug.
