Need Help Bridgetown fort is invincible

Nightmare1200

Powder Monkey
i have two war ships and i keep firing but still 100% and i can't keep moving the masts fall from ship i can't do anything
any advice?

Which modpack version? Which storyline? Which point in the story?
You might want to upload a zipped save game.

What sort of ships do you have, and what sort of cannons are they carrying? Anything less than 18lb cannons won't touch a fort, and anything less than 24lb probably won't defeat Bridgetown.

Did you make sure to talk to Danielle right before going to attack the fort? If so, you should have teleported right next to the fort, you should not have sailed there. Bridgetown fort may indeed be invincible if you have not followed the storyline properly.

Did you talk to Danielle and Clement before going down the passage to the labyrinth?

Start from a savegame before going into the temple. Play up to the part where you drop the idol. If it still doesn't work, post "compile.log", "system.log", and "error.log" if it exists.

ye talked to them they decide to separate and thanks to wiki i manged to be at the square when i get to put the idol but nothing happens

one of the three saves i cannot know cuz i don't save overwrite someone told me that could be dangerous

"compile.log" shows that you're using Beta 3.3, dating back to January 2015! While I'm fairly certain that I completed "Tales of a Sea Hawk" back when I was using version 3.3, I don't have that version installed now, so can't do anything with the savegame. It also means I can't diagnose any errors in that version, and I suspect nobody else here can either.

@Pieter Boelen: "error.log" shows something going wrong with "itemlogic.c", presumably to do with placing the idol. I wouldn't know how to sort that out even if it happened in Beta 4.1.

It certainly ought to be possible to complete "Tales of a Sea Hawk" with that version. Which, now I think about it, may actually be Beta 3.4 - the file which displays the version number on screen and in "compile.log" wasn't updated to say "3.4", so it claims to be Beta 3.3. The date "19 Jan 2015" shows that it's probably Beta 3.4.

Hi there,
i had a conversation with nightmare about the version, he should be on 3.4 (im using that), but it seems he has messed up his install (he cant see Brave Black Flag Storyline, that im playing on 3.4, in 4.1 its gone, we have free play therefor), AND - his hardware is even older than mine ( ATI Radeon 3000 graphices, ram 1.75, AMD Athlon II X2 250, 3.01 GHz), and im trying to get 4.1 working right!
Bye there.

There was one of the Build 14 Beta 3 versions (I think it was 3.2 and some versions of 3.3) where the section with the idol was really BIG BAD BUGGED.
Since not many people get that far very often, it took a long time for it to be discovered; I think we've got @Hylie Pistof to thank for confirming it!
Then it took a lot of trial-and-error on my part to finally fix it again, but that was far from easy.
So if he's using a version affected by that bug, then there just isn't a proper way to continue.
Would require console trickery to bypass the bugged point. But better by far would be to update to a version that doesn't have the bug.

i can't use version 4.1 iam xp user i cannot install
There is no reason that I can think of why the latest mod cannot be installed on Windows XP.
I can imagine that performance could be an issue, but installing and getting into the first tutorial scene at the very least should work.

As far as I can tell from "compile.log", it claims to be Beta 3.3, but that's perhaps because Beta 3.4 never had "globals.c" properly updated - it claimed to be Beta 3.3 but dated January 2015. ModDB has Beta 3.4 available for download.

Do you happen to know which files needed to be fixed? I may be able to find the Beta 3.5 versions of those files and upload them here, which may solve the problem.

It was an initialization problem in the main seadogs.c file that was being set wrong right at the start of the game.
Even if you do post a fix-only file, it would still require a new game to take effect, which is no good here.

For the Bridgetown fort you need big cannons mounted on big ships. The Wicked Wench really isn't big enough and gets hammered pretty hard. Frigates sit too low in the water and can't shoot high enough. The Heavy Pinnace of War is the cheapest ship that is big enough to do the job.

All I remember about that gem is that it worked, then didn't work, and then it worked again in different versions. There were tons of problems at Cozumel and there are still a few left.

how could version 3.4 called A "version" when it has this through the game i mean the original game doesn't have this bug its original game story if my pc is extremely old then its ok but while iam playing there is no Drop Fps
this game doesn't freeze a moment there is no getaway from this misson if someone could end it from his computer
i would appreciate it

Original game story van and was affected by an error caused by a mod someone did.
He never had a clue it would have a bad effect on anything.
Took forever to sort out.
