Port Royal model... help?

I found Port Royal.obj model detailed as seen in the movie.
Only, I can not put it in Maya 5.0 and then export it to .gm. I can't understand the reason.
The cargo template is non-textured because the file was too large:shock
Any help?

To be fair, at the moment I am not sure what could be done with it at the moment.
We have no modelers around with time to do a conversion, so any conversion would need to be done by you or him.
While it does look like a nice model, I am not sure if it really matches the current models in the game. A lot of additional work may be required to get it to look similar.
Then when it is added to the game, all quests would need to be adapted to make use of the new model.
So this would be quite a substantial job.

But at the very least, you can let him know that we exist and what we do here.

The model looks promising, but from those screenshots, it seems to use either very simple textures or no textures at all.
The amount of work required to remap it to use similar textures to this game would be fairly substantial, so personally I'd advise against trying to import this model for the same reasons Pieter mentioned.
