Well, it's a good day to sail with my spanish fleet... back again in action. And I'm having great fun with a not bad fleet for multiple operations. So much time without playing it... Couldn't resist it.

Charles Ardent's suits are taken straight from one of the "9J" models, i.e. "I remember Jack Sparrow as ...".

Helen Ardent's are based on the "add_armor" files. The shirt collar is built into the model so she's pulled it out over the armour.

Elizabeth Swann presented the problem of not only getting front and back to match, but also head and main body, which proved too hard. So I've used the same armour textures as for Helen Ardent, but clipped so she appears to be wearing her coat over the armour.

And now I have Photoshop files with these armour textures as separate layers. So if we want, I can easily apply the same armours to any corsair variant or any "Danielle" variant.
 
Thought about posting a couple of screenies but no can do. With this 27" monitor some are under 2 mb and some are over 2 mb, which is the size limit. Will try a trick to see if they can be compressed.

EDIT: Ha! Good old Paint Shop Pro comes to the rescue again. :ship

So here is my fleet and why I like the Light Pinnace. You can climb up to the top of the main mast for a nice view. The flag in the foreground is the mizzen mast flag.

Another new character model: "lady3", based on the AoP model of the same name - I managed to rearrange the texture to work reasonably well as a variant of "towngirl7".

She's going to appear briefly in "Ardent" as the wife of the governor of Port Royale, but the model is not specifically tied to the storyline and anyone else who wants to use her for another character in another storyline or side quest is welcome to do so.

That Bermuda sloop is nothing to do with me, it's just a random coastal trader in the wrong place at the wrong time. "Wrong place" here means "in the forward arc of the Dauphin Royale". It didn't survive long.

One boarding action later, and after some fun and games in and around Port Royale, this is my fast war galleon with my new prize ship behind:

from this i've learned that staying for a long time at sea(iron man mod more then 3 months without setting foot on land) i need to take them to take them to a brothel for god sake they couldn't stop them selves from attackingeach other (i had to lock myself in my cabin and only get out in action like fights and stuff XD)
 
Upon sailing from Bridgetown, Barbados to Port Royal, Jamaica my modest heavy lugger, the Dying Gull, ran afoul of a scratch French patrol. I couldn't avoid the fight. They had me cut off, so I sought the most favourable winds and went right after the grandest ship they had. Broadsides port and starboard kept the lesser ships on their heels as we gained advantage and boarded the French flagship. Aye, and a pitched battle it was. But me crew overcame the odds and claimed the ship for our own. The Gull met its end, and we sailed on to Port Royal.

Gentlemen, I present to you the Cesaire Trosclair.

The odd thing was, after we outran the French ships and got into clear water, I could hear a heartbeat. It got louder, and then I could hear the organ music. The music of Davy Jones. Clear and thunderous, like the sea at her angriest. Thankfully I never caught sight of the Dutchman. I pray Jones never catches sight of me.

The July update includes a new sidequest, "The Kapitein of Kralendijk". It's based loosely on the real incident of the Captain of Köpenick, with a great deal of artistic licence to fit it into the PoTC world - for one thing, Kralendijk takes the place of Köpenick for no reason other than it starts and ends with "k" and has the right number of syllables.

This chap is sitting in Philipsburg tavern, and has a plan which he'll share with you (though not if you're a naval officer):

After bluffing your way out of that, you have a decision to make:

Assuming you go for it, you find a random Dutch soldier in a tavern, get him drunk, and steal his uniform, then take it to the Kralendijk tailor to be upgraded to an officer's uniform. But the tailor is no fool:

So you need forged papers. If you've done the "Church Help" sidequest then you'll have met Yedam Kinne and, provided you didn't kill him, you can use his services. Otherwise you'll find another forger in the buccaneer camp on Hispaniola:

The first test of your new uniform will be when you try to commandeer a soldier from the tavern in Kralendijk - any soldier will do:

And then it's off to see the governor to carry out the robbery:

You'll get away with it unless you return to Kralendijk, in which case, you're arrested and brought back to face the governor:

If you play as a Naval Officer, it is possible to lose your commission during gameplay.
So if it isn't the case already, maybe you would want to ensure the quest doesn't "permanently lock you out".

That's sheer brilliance! Well done. :rofl
 
Voigt's dialog checks if you're a naval officer by using the function 'ProfessionalNavyNation()'. If you've lost your commission, presumably that won't show you to be a naval officer any more. So, if you got kicked out of the navy, you should be eligible for a bit of crime. :D

However, if you talk to him while you're a naval officer, he gets frightened off and disappears. I can change that so he stays put. So, if you talk to him while you're an officer, he'll politely ask you to leave; then you disgrace yourself, get kicked out of the navy, and he'll still be there for you to try again.
