Mod Release Build 14 Beta 3 Progress

I've looted and plundered ye ole new 3.3 update provided by our hearties on pirates ahoy (me hearties yo ho) and installed on a seperate folder, but alas, I cannot find the parameter "Female officers percentage" at all, it's a shame. I'm working on fiddling certain fixed together from 3.2 and 3.3, considering the hundreds of changes done to a ton of files in my 3.2 install. Anyone got any hints, I'm still looking at the moment but nothing in the changes done from 3.2 to 3.3 in any of the files I suspected has anything in it that relates to the female officers.

*EDIT*
Ok, now I've been completely confused. In 3.3 it states the code was "removed" but the code is not in my files in 3.2, it is INCLUDED via 3.3, little wonder I was looking all over the place and couldnt find the changes in my old files. So it is in internalsettings.h and relates to the "enc_walker.c" files, that's where it does all the fun and magic.

The female officer percentage code was in Beta 3.2 but NOT in Beta 3.3 at the moment.
I do intend to return it again at some point, but the priority has been on fixing and finishing things to be properly playable first.

Very strange, I downloaded the 3.3 IR from your link sig and it even says 3.3 in the readme.txt after installing the new modpack from exe, but the variable and code in internalsettings.h + enc_walker.c still contains it. Maybe I'm missing something or its something completely different that I found, but it would be FEMALE_OFFICER_PERCENTAGE, no? Anyways, I've not yet really decyphered what exactly happens here but on the other hand, with that code included, I found way too many female officers. In my olden mod version without the percentage, they are rare, but with this new (old?) code it makes every 3rd officer a woman, sometimes the whole tavern is full of 4 women and 1 man... that'd be my kind of party, ehem.... ;)

*Edit* Also nice to see my proposed fix for the "trading menu modifier" was included, its a shame the code is written so overly complicated, and if I recall correctly, it was even included in the original game version.... not sure tho, but I remember somehow getting 60 million in one minute back in 2003ish when the game came out, maybe that was the trick.

You're right; it IS still in there. I must have excluded only part of it. Will have to check some time soon... :facepalm

Indeed I looked at that code and tried to make some sense of it.
Couldn't figure it out in a reasonable time, so figured to go with the simple fix you did. So thanks for that. :doff

I think it was a mod-added feature though.

Hey man its the least I can do find some smaller things, its all one community and we all workin for the better good (or how can you say it) of the mod so everybody experiences the same, awesome, well, experience this game can be. Esp. with the mod.

Somehwere in that trading script it is not calculating the money according to the increments, the more you buy the more expensive its supposed to get and the more you sell the less valuable things are getting, but the script has huge problems with increments greater than 1. Hence the "buying for money" and "selling for negative gold" glitches when you use +10 and +5 increments. Even changing them to just 2 produces highly glitched amounts of money, so who ever made the script forgot to dynamically recalc EVERY increment, even if one click means 10 or 100 increments.

It also seems to calculate the money gained or spent when selling/buying by the overall weight of the ware thats traded, a very very weird system indeed. Ah well, no matter, I'm also still fiddling with it, but even with a limited increment of 1 unit per click, and without modifiers, it still goes pretty fast, and is pretty controllable that way.

Ok just got confused
The install Im using says Sep 2014
The installer you pointed out says May 2014
The broken link says Dec 2014

So wasn't sure if I was up to date or not

Ya, sometimes Pieter lets little details like what month it is slip by. :wp

Everyone starts off swabbing the deck. :whipa

I'm pretty sure my signature and the opening post are correct. What's the problem?

Your signature points to the first post of the "Simplified Build 14 Beta 3.3 WIP Code" thread. So does the link posted by Levis. That in turn contains a URL for a download of the December version of Beta 3.3 and a link to the ModDB page for Part 2. These are indeed the correct places to get the most up to date version.

Any source containing an installation which requires Beta 3.2 to be installed first is probably obsolete and might be worth deleting to avoid the confusion seen above. ;)

There are links posted all over the place in various threads. I only keep my signature and the opening post of this thread up-to-date.
Otherwise I would go insane.

Of course I'll update a few more places once Beta 3.3 is publicly released on ModDB.
For now, Beta 3.2 is still the latest official release because we're still working on 3.3 .

Ok all those links go to same thread and the top part is indeed up to date, later same post there are instructions.

Ok hehhe here is my confusion.

The link from you sig says Build 14 Beta 3.3 Internal Release - Updated: 9 December 2014

The game reports its version as 21 Sep 2014 but your link says Dec 2014 so I went searching for a more up to date file. Later in the post your sig links is ....

"Anyway, extract this on top of Build 14 Beta 3.2 to add all the latest fixes and remove all the controversial new features:
1. Beta 3.2: Using the Installer EXE and 7-Zip Archive
2. Beta 3.3 WIP: http://piratesahoy.net/build/b14_beta3-3_wip3.exe"

THAT link gives an error.

I THINK Im all up to date using the files from top part of post and the Sep 2014 the game is reporting is just something didn't get changed. Can someone confirm that?

I'm pretty darn sure that both the Build Info.txt and the game main menu dates have been updated.

Just checked again: My signature is completely correct.
The top of that post contains all you need.

There is outdated information on it too, but that is after the heading of "Original Opening Post".
That means the text below is what used to be there when this thread was started. The top part was added because the original opening post was no longer correct.

So again, I do not see a problem. Link in my signature points to a thread.
The top of that thread is up to date and contains all that you need.

I cannot keep every post I ever made up to date. That would be quite insane.

About the Blaze_land_dead video, it would be interesting if my storylines could use a specific video when the Pchar is dead.
