Is there going to be further constructive discussion or are there going to be 2000 more posts wasting everyone's time? I thought this is a brainstorming forum?

Get right to it.

I'd say let this idea rest until we get that source code. Without it, we can't do anything.

Im with Pieter, hence why I havnt posted anything in this topic. Even with the source code it would take someone deciated to it to get it working

Absolutely true. And even then, we'll probably only end up with player-vs-player ship battles,
just like AoP and CoAS have. To work our game into a MMORPG would be an insanely big project.
After all the game was never made as an MMORPG, so it might require reworking of pretty much everything.
To be done by somebody who really, really knows what he's doing.
And I'm pretty sure rather a lot of the Modders here, me included, don't know what we're doing.
And definitly not to the extent required to do something that advanced.

We just try things, see if they work... if not try something else until we get it to work (or make our computers break :rofl)

Yep... consider us like explorers, rather than people with a GPS and digital chart system.
We also have to find our way around and sometimes cannot find our destination.
And sometimes we don't even know where we're going. Now actual programmers, THEY have got a GPS!

Until we have that source code, there is literally nothing we can do.
Once we have that, we can do brainstorming on how to actually make it happen.
If we decide it's reasonable to try it, of course.

As Pieter has said, until we get the source code its impossible to do anyway...

So lets leave this topic until we get it ok :yes

About the fake multiplayer, I've got a clear idea but the problem is my code knowledge is limited to do that :shrug
I think someone like Sulan or Pirate_kk could succeed in doing this but they are busy at the moment. :keith

For instance, I want to put some famous pirates and even some modders(like Pieter) in the fake multiplayer but how to create an IA for them so that they can randomly sail on the sea or even attack some forts....

I think Pirate_KK once had an idea to that extent and I think CoAS has something like that too. NOT easy to code in though, I'm afraid.

In the worst case, I can do something less ambitious. For instance, make a set of quick/small missions for the characters. These missions could appear randomly. And the player could be informed by quest texts about what the other characters are doing....
