Captain Blood, formerly known as Age of Pirates: Captain Blood,[1] is an action-adventure game based on the novels by Rafael Sabatini about the titular Captain Blood. The player will assume the role of the Captain, following his adventures in 1685 Spanish Main. This game has been recently rated by the PEGI rating board and is being released by 1C.

Captain Blood is a pirate-themed hack and slash action game that will feature a mission-based structure, allowing players to fight on both land and sea against hordes of enemies, with ship-to-ship battles and sword fights to gain control of invaded ships. Gamers gain special points as they defeat enemies, acquiring new fighting techniques and gold for weapons and equipment.[2]

Rants

So okay significant? , here's my quite a rant after seeing this trailer for this game holy crap .. this game is so epic, if you like age of pirates themed games/god of war and a bit punisher style mixed in then this is the game that got me interested to play. why in the load of ass they cancelled it. few games like this i remembered 2009 that got nearly cancelled overlord is prime example at least they got released in the end. while i could understand the state of the demo itself felt incomplete, like the ship has crew but you have to operate the cannon by yourself. well we all could wish that 1c could re-released this game in complete form. although you could find this illegally , there's some site published a PC leaked copy but it got shut down idk for whatever reason. it's the only game that suffered on mysterious condition that somehow made me raised some thoughts.

What happened behind the screens, I haven't the faintest clue. It can't have been good.

If I recall, the game used to look really good.
Then it started to look really terrible.
Then it was delayed a long, long time.
Then it was cancelled.
Then I virtually completely forgot it once almost existed. :rofl

Wow!
I never thought I'd ever see anything about this game again.
And yet... I just played on of the development demo's myself!

It's CLEARLY another "Storm Engine" game.
The similarities with "City of Abandoned Ships" are plenty.
Same character models and everything.

Isn't it less realistic?
From some gameplay I have seen the models and the style in general seemed different.
Though maybe this was a later build?

Though maybe this was a later build?
It was.

The one I just played for a few minutes seemed to be on the same realism level of the other Sea Dogs game.
Though a different genre.
It's more a linear adventure; like the 3D Indiana Jones / Tomb Raider / Uncharted games (or PotC: Legend of Jack Sparrow / At World's End, really).

It's even got a fixed camera angle in the land mission I played like in the new LEGO games, which takes QUITE some getting used to.
Especially since the controls remain linked to the character model; not to the camera angle.

This game has LEVELS.
Nothing open world about it.

I might as well try it once I will be able to.
Even if different it seems quite interesting.
