Of course those guns shall be replaced with low poly ones

My compliments Sir! You are an artist. :shock The recent tutorials and the FTP tools available on the forum have got me hooked on learning your skills. At the risk of exposing to all how mundane my life is outside of work I must declare, that when I see/watch the really beautiful ships - in motion - in the games, with the backgrounds, sunsets, storms, etc., I am truly spellbound. I regard it personally as an advanced and refined artistic media - a true art form in the highest sense of artistic expression. In short, you guys producing these fine models make me drool. I can only aspire to produce results like yours and I understand the high learning curve involved with Maya. I am a neophyte, but hope to show off one of my tubs soon.

Well done!!! :onya I can't wait to see it in motion under sail.

I was looking for info on that too, i've found some very, and mean very detailed plans on her here, they'v got plans for everything, even anchors, life boats and cannons... hope they are handful :onya

PS: Just before Trafalgar she got 4 more cannons reaching 140 weapons :will

Looks fantastic, Zareth, I´m really impressed! How´d you make the portholes? Bolean operations or "simple" cuts?

@Bava: I dont know how about you, but i find bolean way to unprolix, and leaving too many residuals... i had a bolean script that was far better than blender's default but still i had to make way to many corrections to the portholes on the "Libertad", havent tryed how Maya does tough, maybe Zareth can bring us some light on that...

PS: just noticed that i havent tryed the boleans in .49, i'll check that out tonight

Edit: Found the boolean script, get it here

That's great, Zareth!

To Bartolomeu: Since the Soleil Royale model seems to be unusable in PotC,
maybe we can figure out a way to use the Santissima Trinidad instead?

"Soleil Royale model seems to be unusable in PotC" O_____o'''' Why?! this... is... Horrible?!

I tried to edit it so that the rigging was right and add pennant locators and the result was a beeping half ship :modding

Great work ! :piratesahoy!@bartolomeu o portugues Timeline 1769 - 1805
Thanks for the information...

From pgargon said the Santissima Trinidad has been built later.. not in the 17th century :shrug .. In my opinion, it fits better in the Swindler Main quest or in the Hornblower Main Quest.. The Soleil Royal is only used for a battle, we can't really keep this French ship ?? :?

The thing with the Soleil Royal is that she misses a bunch of ropes in the game
and also doesn't have pennants like all other ships do.
Captain Maggee tried to fix it, but no luck.
ZarethPL also tried and failed. And her modeler indeed disappeared. :modding

That's one way to think about it, yes. But she doesn't look damaged; she looks bugged. :facepalm

is it possible to take it from gm all the way back to maya and re export it ?... the basic geometry is there so...
