[imgleft]http://lh4.ggpht.com/_cQOyQjTP3GY/SzdzfGWk3nI/AAAAAAAAAIg/CePEMJs6IBk/real-pirates.gif[/imgleft]I'm a bit late with this one this week, I have been a bit busy with all the forum changes that have been going on( Looks awesome Keith! ) and my work on the upcoming manual for "New Horizons". I am still debating on whether or not I am going to start posting my pirate news as a blog or keep it as a forum thread, until i decide for sure, you can always find the latest news HERE! It's been quite an active week on the real pirates front. There have been a couple of vessels released after the pirates received ransoms, and a couple of new hijackings as well. This is the first post with the new style so things may look a bit wonky until i get it all figured out. Anyway, here is the ICC's live piracy report for this past week :

I emailed Gamers Gate regarding the availability of COAS as it was supposed to be released on the 26th and the bad news is as follows. I can't see why they don't know, they must be waiting for a Playlogic approval or something but if that's the case they could be waiting a while as Playlogic have been less than useful for both the Age of Pirate titles.

At the moment there is a post about a test & patch coming out and has details about how you can help!
Over at ForbiddenCove They are holding a Lego pirate ship building contest! At least I assume that's what they want, as the rules never really specify just what your supposed to build! Anyway, the contest runs from January 1, 2010 through March 15'th, 2010. According to their contest rules, all submissions must be built specifically for there Jolly Roger contest, and can't be already in progress builds. The booty consists of various pirate Lego sets and various other assorted trinkets! Head on over and have a look at the official rules HERE!

One of the most popular sections since Pirates Ahoy! started is the release dates area where we make guesses on future releases as well as record older releases, which we're sure we're right on...
Notes:
All the "Release Dates" are based on either publisher or developer statements which means it could be nowhere near that time.
The Micropose link heads straight to Atari as they own Microprose and its pretty much defunct in all but name.
There have been many previous pirates games released i have not included them as at PA! we will not cover them, maybe ill put them in in the future as a historical type thing.
Dawn of Discovery is the latest game in the classic Anno seriesreleased back in June, the European version is referred to as Anno1404. Why Ubisoft felt a name change was necessary for the westernmarket is beyond me. Anyway, I posted this on the forum a while back, but I thought I would go ahead and post it on the front page for thosethat missed it. I had posted a lot about this game on the forum earlierthis year, I'm a big fan of the Anno series of games and I was reallylooking forward to this one, but when I found out about the draconiancopy protection included with the original release of this game Ipretty much gave up on it. Back at the end of October, Ubisoft releasedan official patch for this game fixing a few bugs and completelyremoving the TAGES copy protection!
